Louis-Jean is an engaged Reggae musician from Senegal. He developed a passion for Reggae music at an early age and wrote the lyrics for a YOUSSOU N’DOUR-song contest on children’s rights in the whole world.
His love for Reggae sent him to a journey to explore South-Africa, where he worked with the band of LUCKY DUBE (one of the most popular african Reggae stars, Rest in Peace). Together they produced his album DAKAR-JOHANNESBURG-BERLIN just before his departure to Berlin. Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s dream, to bring his nation together as one “Rainbow Nation“, L-J founded the band THE IRIE RAINBOW, a multi-nation band which is continuously developing its style based on Roots-Reggae-Dub.
The band includes inspirations of Reggae music, add the african roots and bring them all together into a new exciting musical experience.
Driven by the idea of reggae music as music for the people that brings all nations together, Louis-Jean and The Irie Rainbow Band has been cooperating and backing up many national and international artists.

Biografie in Französisch:
Venant du Sénégal (Guédiawaye), Louis-Jean a développé une passion pour la musique Reggae à bas âge, en écrivant une chanson pour Youssou N’DOUR, thème sur les droits d’enfants. Son amour pour le Reggae, lui a poussé à quitter le Sénégal pour explorer l’Afrique du Sud, où il a travaillé avec le groupe de Lucky DUBE et certains grands musiciens de la musique township. Ensemble, ils ont produit l’album DAKAR- JOHANNESBURG- BERLIN juste avant son départ à Berlin. Inspiré par le rêve de Nelson Mandela, pour réunir sa nation comme une « Nation d’Arc-en-ciel » / « RAINBOW NATION ».
L-J a fondé le groupe « The Irie Rainbow », un groupe de différentes nationalités qui développe sans cesse leur propre style basé sur le Roots-Rock-Reggae-Dub.
L-J et son groupe sont beaucoup inspirés par les roots africains (racines musicales africaines) et ajoutent le Dub électronique pour créer une fusion musicale et excitante.
Conduits par l’idée de la musique reggae, comme musique du peuple qui réunisse toutes les nations, ils ont travaillé avec des artistes comme : Max’Adioa (France), General Snipe, Monkey Mob (Allemagne) et beaucoup d’autres. La cooperation avec ces artistes permet Louis-Jean d`acquerir plus d`experiences et à ameliorer sa qualité musicale.
